Fully Fund Afterschool and Community Schools in the FY27 State Budget

Illinois families are facing major threats to programs that keep kids safe and support working parents, as federal funding disruptions and grant terminations put afterschool and community programs at risk of closure. Despite this instability, the Governor’s proposed budget cuts funding for Teen REACH, ISBE After School programs, and After School Matters, and fails to support Full-Service Community Schools with grants in jeopardy.

We call on the Governor and General Assembly to restore and increase funding for Teen REACH, After School Matters, and After School programs, and to treat the out-of-school time system like the essential public good that it is.

Use our Action Alert to tell the Illinois General Assembly to support our OST for All Campaign, and protect access to afterschool and youth programs in every region of Illinois.
