Attention LA Fashion District Stakeholders!
We need your voice to be heard! The proposed PLUM committee amendments will be before the full City Council Wednesday at 10 AM. These amendments will significantly impact the future development and housing supply in the Fashion District. We need your help to urge the City Council to consider the negative impact the PLUM amendments will have on our community.
The PLUM amendments propose changes to the DTLA Community Plan, making it infeasible for new development projects to get off the ground and compromising a potential 12,000 units, 2000 of which would be rent-restricted affordable units. This is a major concern, given that we are in the middle of a housing crisis, and there are already limited housing options at all levels in the district. Moreover, the Fashion District has long been an important economic engine for the city, generating jobs and opportunities for countless individuals. Limiting the housing supply and eliminating flexibility in the area could reduce the number of people who can live and work in the district, potentially damaging the local economy.
We urge you to submit a public comment to the City Council expressing your concerns about the PLUM amendments and their negative impact on the Fashion District. Your comments can make a difference in shaping the future of our community. Together, we can help ensure that the Fashion District remains a vibrant and thriving neighborhood with ample housing for all.
Don't wait -- submit your comment today; it might be your last opportunity to be heard!
