ACT NOW Against A Tax on Legal Services: Oppose HB1515 and Any Corresponding Legislation

The Maryland State Bar Association continues to advocate for the legal profession and opposes a proposed 5% sales tax to include legal services.

MSBA strongly opposes HB1515 and any related legislation that would impose a tax on legal services. The bill would have a direct and devastating effect on the competitiveness of every MSBA attorney, law firm, and legal organization, while also reducing the affordability of Maryland legal services for clients and businesses. MSBA has been nationally-recognized for previously opposing and defeating an identical bill in 2020, and we continue to protect our members, firms, and the future of the legal industry through our ongoing advocacy on this critical issue.

Please join us in emailing or calling your representatives in the House and Senate TODAY to oppose HB1515 and any legislation that imposes a tax on legal services.
