Ask Your Senator to Vote NO on HB93!

Next week, the Senate will debate HB93, the Parental Choice Tax Credit bill—a measure that threatens public education by diverting tax dollars to private education expenses.

What’s at Stake?
HB93 establishes refundable tax credits of up to $5,000 per student ($7,500 for students with disabilities) for private school tuition, homeschooling materials, and other non-public education costs—taking critical funding away from Idaho’s public schools.

Why Oppose HB93?

Public Funds Should Stay in Public Schools – HB93 shifts taxpayer dollars away from public schools and into private institutions that aren’t held to the same transparency or accountability standards.

No Oversight, No Accountability – Unlike public schools, private schools and homeschooling programs receiving these tax credits aren’t required to follow state curriculum standards or report how funds are used.

Harms Rural and Underserved Communities – The majority of Idaho students rely on public schools. Rural areas have few, if any, private school options—meaning public schools will suffer while many families see no benefit.

Worsens Educational Opportunities for Low-Income Families – While HB93 claims to help all families, the reality is that private school tuition often exceeds the tax credit, meaning wealthier families benefit the most, while many lower-income students are left behind.

Take Action Now

Your Senator needs to hear from you. Ask them to vote NO on HB93 to ensure public tax dollars support public schools, giving every Idaho student access to a strong, well-funded education. Idaho’s students and schools deserve better.
