Pass out the Open to Religion Act (HB 1310) to protect the rights of kids to voluntarily gather for prayer in school. The Open to Religion Act stops bureaucratic discrimination against Christians in public schools. Under this bill, kids aren’t sent out into the cold to “pray at the flagpole,” but can meet in a classroom or other private space to pray and read the Bible. This is a top priority for me. Please ask the members of the AET committee to pass this bill before the committee deadline.
