Dear Congressman {{legislator:full_name}}, I am contacting you to request that you strike Section 759 of the House FY26 Agriculture-FDA Appropriations package, or any similar language, which would redefine hemp in a way that effectively bans this thriving American industry.The hemp industry is deserving of a measured approach to oversight. Prohibition is a failed policy, and the American consumer is interested in and demands clean and safe hemp products. A hemp ban would collapse a $28.4 billion sector of the U.S. economy, destroy 328,000 jobs, punish farmers, and strip veterans, seniors and responsible adults of safe alternatives they depend on.Instead of banning hemp, lawmakers should adopt responsible regulations that protect consumers while allowing the industry to continue driving innovation and opportunity:- Limit hemp product sales to adults 21+- Require manufacturing standards and independent third-party testing for safety- Enforce uniform labeling so consumers can make informed choices- Set packaging standards to prevent copycat products that confuse adults or attract minors- Require hemp material to be sourced from the U.S. Thank you for protecting American hemp, its workers, and the millions of people who rely on safe, tested hemp products.
