Gerrymandering and voter suppression have worked to marginalize Georgia voters for too long.
During the 2011 and 2015 redistricting cycles in Georgia, state legislators met behind closed doors to draw unfair electoral maps that left many of our state’s residents underrepresented, unheard, and unempowered. Elected officials have been manipulating maps for their own benefit, allowing them to choose their voters while silencing the voices of Georgians. Voters should choose their politicians- politicians shouldn’t choose their voters!
That is why we will not allow our voices to be silenced any longer! The time for a representative government is now— Georgia must establish a fair and transparent redistricting process that prioritizes Georgia voters instead of politicians.
Take action! Email, call and/or tweet your state legislators to ask for a fair, transparent process that allows voters to choose who represents them.
You can also participate in the redistricting process by attending a public hearing in your area. Sign up here.
