ACTION NEEDED: Afterschool Funding Left Out of FY26 Budget Draft

Over the last several weeks, we’ve asked you to join our OST for All Campaign — and you’ve shown up in a big way! Hundreds of youth and advocates have joined ACT Now at the Capitol, spoken at press conferences, and participated in committee hearings. We've gained momentum and earned media coverage across the state.

BUT — the fight is not over. The first draft of the FY26 state budget does not include $50 million for afterschool and Community School programs. Without this funding, programs across Illinois will continue to shut down, and even more students will lose access to the support they need.
